GBrain-Plus is a personal knowledge engine workspace built on the vendored GBrain backend by Garry Tan. Notes, email, group chats, saved links and articles become Markdown files; a typed-link graph is built over them; and questions are answered with hybrid retrieval where every answer cites the paragraph it came from.

One query runs twelve deterministic steps: intent rewrite, multi-query expansion, three vector searches, keyword search, RRF fusion, a compiled-truth boost, a backlink boost, two-hop graph traversal, a source-aware boost, deduplication, LLM rerank and composition. Each layer is independently ablatable and the ablation panel shows what it contributes. Typed links are matched at write time with regex over four verb families — no model call, no embedding, roughly 0.3 ms per page.

The repository ships two faces: a landing page that explains the product and an eight-page workbench with a sandbox mode that needs no backend, plus a live mode that reads a real GBrain vault through BFF routes. If the backend is unavailable the pages fall back to sandbox data and say so rather than going blank.
